[texts]Structural Examination of 6-Methylsulphonylphenanthro-[9,10-C]-furan-1(3H)-one--A Rofecoxib Degradation Product. (Volume 3) - Dean, Pamela M.
This article is from Pharmaceuticals, volume 3.AbstractIn the attempt to discover a new polymorph of rofecoxib (Vioxx®), an unexpected product resulted. The product was characterised by chemical composition, thermal behaviour and structure and found to be 6-methylsulphonylphenanthro-[9,10-C] furan-1(3H)-one, a photo-cyclization degradation product of rofecoxib. This is a significant finding because it indicates that without appropriate control of the recrystallisation procedures, the structural...

[texts]Methyl 9H-xanthene-9-carboxyl-ate. (Volume 64) - Dean, Pamela M.
This article is from Acta Crystallographica Section E: Structure Reports Online, volume 64.AbstractThe title compound, C15H12O3, was obtained unintentionally as the by-product of an attempted recrystallization from methanol of propantheline bromide, an antimuscarinic drug. The xanthone unit is folded, with a dihedral angle of 24.81 (9)° between the benzene rings. The ester substituent adopts a trans staggered conformation, with a C—C—O—C torsion angle of 178.4 (1)°...
[texts]1-Methyl-1-propyl-pyrrolidinium chloride. (Volume 64) - Dean, Pamela M.
This article is from Acta Crystallographica Section E: Structure Reports Online, volume 64.AbstractThe aymmetric unit of the title compound, C8H18N+·Cl−, consists of one crystallographically independent 1-methyl-1-propylpyrrolidinium cation and one chloride anion, both of which lie in general positions. Minor hydrogen-bonded C—H⋯Cl interactions occur. However, no classical hydrogen bonding is observed.
